Thank you to all those 11-14 year olds who attended the watercolour workshop in our local library.
We took the holiday programme theme of ‘Lost Worlds’ to generate ideas and spent a few hours working on individual pieces. The group learnt how to use masking fluid and some emergency ‘delete’ tricks in order to manage the sometimes unpredictable medium of watercolour.
It was wonderful to see so many innovative and varied approaches. I hope you will all continue to experiment with your own ways of painting with watercolours.

This year I have run a twice weekly Creativity Club at a secondary school. I would like to thank ALL the students who joined the club for their enthusiasm, both in discussion and practical art making. We had participants from a primary school and so the mixture of ages from Year 3 to Year 9 was great. In 2016 we hope to continue Creativity Club, perhaps extending to Year 12. Our Pinterest board CREATIVITY CLUB will continue to grow as a resource bank and collection of students’ work. Students who are already contributors to this board please feel free to upload work and pin inspiring pins over the holidays. I hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday and see you in Term 1 2016!

“It felt so good to be practical. Russet often considered herself useless and as you can see she was quite wrong.”
